Colin Joseph Mayne was born on March 20, 1925. He was the loving husband of Katherine (Katie) Wallace Mayne for 72 years. He served in WWII in the US Army Air Corps where he completed 22 missions over the war zone. Born in New Orleans, the son of Colin George Mayne and Carrie Hart Mayne (with siblings Jessie, Vera, Catherine, Doris, and Allen), he lived in Chalmette for over 20 years where he raised 4 sons: John (Anne Galjour ), Thomas (Karen Rodriguez), Michael (Debby Francioni) and James (Charlotte Voelker). He and Katie then moved to Waldheim where he designed and built his own home which became a center for the Mayne family for the rest of his years. He is survived by Katie, his 4 sons, 11 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. He is remembered by his family and many friends as a loving man, a proud veteran, and a kind and gentle giant. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations directly to Food for the Poor or a charity of your choice. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433. Visiting hours on Thursday will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment at the Garden District Cemetery in Covington will immediately follow services. US Army Air Corps ===================
