Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2017/st1705.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== Huldah Blackwell Thompson Murr, 95, passed away peacefully into the Lord’s hands on May 6, 2017, surrounded by her loving daughter, Carolyn Wood, and her special caretakers, Ruth Dunne and Evie McNeese, to whom the family is most grateful for their loving care and unending support. She was born September 23, 1921, at the Blackwell homestead in the Bonner Creek community. She graduated from Enon High School in 1938 and then attended Southeastern University. She entered the teaching profession in Washington and St. Tammany Parishes. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Vergil E. Thompson, her second husband, Paul D. Murr, and her beloved son-in-law, Neal Wood. She was the daughter of the late Florence and John Blackwell of the Bonner Creek community. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Curtis Blackwell and Jack Blackwell, and her sisters, Alma Elizabeth Mizell and Velma Vivian Fussell. She is survived by her two daughters Carolyn Thompson Wood of Folsom and Joan Yvonne Revere (Dave) of Houston and her two grandchildren Joanna and Jonathan Revere. Her life was totally enriched by her loving nieces and nephews who all held a special place for their dear aunt in their hearts. Among her many hobbies and interests was her monthly sewing circle where she created many beautiful items that are family treasures. In her later years, you would always find her diligently solving her Wonder Word puzzles. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Bogue Falaya Baptist Church, 78689 Highway 25, Folsom, LA 70437. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with interment at Bogue Falaya Church Cemetery. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the entire staff of Norte Dame Hospice and especially to her special caregivers for their kind and loving care of Huldah and her immediate family.
