Beloved husband of Carolyn Bakay (deceased 2/1/12), loving father to daughter Michelle Bakay (deceased 3/17/99). Lynn B. Sonzala (Frank, husband), Richard R. Bakay (Annette, wife), Scott D. Bakay, Jill Bakay Bell (Richie Wolcott fiancé), Stuart P. Bakay (Amy, wife). Also survived by his wonderful companion of the last 4 years. Judy Filippini, as well as his Michigan family. Richard/Dad, affectionately known as JaJa, (Polish for Grandfather), had 12 Grandchildren; Jamie & Ricky McGee, Timothy Craven, Chance Sonzala, Emmitt & Devin Bakay, Carley Cenac, Allison Bell Frierson, Lindsey Bell Watson, Brandi, Ryan and Abigail Bakay. And 8 great-grandchildren Bradley, Emerson & Lucy McGee, Kai & Jacoby Cenac, Bennett Frierson & Layla & Ryan Bakay Jr.. Born June 11, 1934 in Hamtramck Michigan. He was a graduate of Wayne State, MI & Tulane University New Orleans. His career expanded as an engineer within the Aerospace industry, retiring from Martin Marietta in 1999. He called Slidell home residing here in 1964. He was a Northerner that fell in love with the Deep South. Dad was an avid accomplished golfer since the age of 15. He played his final round last fall with his golf group at Royal Golf Club. His hobbies also included travel, the studies of history, food and family. He will be laid to rest with his wife, Carolyn Bakay, in Denver, Colorado August 25, 2017. ===================
