Ruby Blanche Bowman, “Boo Boo” passed away peacefully Tuesday morning June 20, 
2017, at her home in Ponchatoula, LA at the age of 87. 
She was born in Springfield, LA but lived the majority of her life as a 
resident of Ponchatoula, LA. 

Ruby loved her plants and used her green thumb to keep them beautiful. She also 
loved her cats Tiger and T.Y. 
Devoted mother of Christopher Bowman and loving Grandmother of Heather, 
Matthew, Michelle, Erica, Chris and Brooklyn and Great Grandmother of Tripp, 
Xander, Oliver and Parker. 
Ruby was survived by one brother, Kelvin “Richard” Effler and many nieces and 
nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 12 years Rufus “Emile” 
Bowman and an infant son, Finley Bowman, along with a brother Herman Effler, 3 
sisters; Eunice Willie, May Mulkey, and Annie Hoyt and Parents George and 
Victoria Effler. 

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Serenity 
Funeral Home to offset funeral costs.

Graveside service will be held on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Sandhill Cemetery, 
Ponchatoula LA., 369 Sandhill Cemetery Road for 11:30am.
