Chalá Brewster passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017 in New Orleans, LA. 

She was born on July 7, 1957 in New Orleans, LA to Filmore Chatellier, Jr. and 
the late Jacqueline Hansen Chatellier. She will also be dearly missed by her 
step-mother, Janella Taylor Chatellier.

Chalá was married to her beloved husband, Darrell T. Brewster, for 34 years. 
She was the loving mother of Tanya M. Johnston (Stephen) and Olga Rebecca 
“Becky” Brewster. She was the proud grandmother of Nicole Johnston and Joseph 
Johnston. Chalá was the sister of Philip Eugene “Bubba” Chatellier (the late 
Tammy) and step-sister of Keith Magee (Kim), Craig Magee (Kelly), and Sondra 
Cude (Billy). She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, 
and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at E.J. Fielding 
Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, June 30, 2017 
at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:00 AM until service time. 

Interment will follow the service at Theodore Dendinger Cemetery, Madisonville, 
LA.
