Mary Lou Pravata Champagne, 88, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Tuesday, June 
20, 2017, at Ochsner Foundation Hospital of natural causes.

Mrs. Champagne was preceded in death by her son Jeffrey Allan Champagne, her 
parents Lucian and Mattie Pravata; and one brother: Lucian Joseph Pravata.

She is survived by her husband: William M. Champagne; two sons: Bradley W. 
Champagne (M. Lenell Bryant), and David M. Champagne (Nancy); a sister: Lois 
Cloud; six grandchildren: Matthew B. Champagne, William F. Champagne, D. Aaron 
Champagne, Mitchell A. Champagne, C. Bradley Moye, Brett A. Moye; and five 
great-grandchildren.

A native of New Orleans and a resident of Slidell since 1964, Mary Lou was a 
graduate of Peter Villere School of Dance in New Orleans and the owner of Mary 
Lou Champagne School of Dance in Pearl River, Lousiana for 22 years. She also 
served as a Cub Scout Den Mother, and was a member of the Jaycee Jaynes, the 
Slidell Womens Civic Club, the Krewe of Perseus, and the Ozone Camellia Club.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017, from 10:30am until 12:00pm at 
St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1050 Robert Blvd, Slidell, Louisiana, 
followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 noon.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery In Slidell.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Champagne’s name to St. 
Margaret Mary Food Pantry, 1050 Robert Blvd, Slidell LA
