Marechal, Jr., 89 of Mandeville, LA passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017. He was born on February 28, 1928 in Algiers, LA to Henry J. Marechal, Sr. and Eugenie Henrietta Norbert. Henry is survived by his beloved wife of over 60 years, Shirley Clifton; his two sons Henry “Hank” Marechal, III (Gail Strickland) and Daryl Marechal; and two grandchildren Seth M. Marechal and Stephanie Sharp; two great- grandchildren Gabrielle E. Sharp and Madison C. Sharp. He is also survived by his brother Merlin Marechal (Cindy), his twin sisters Barbara Ann Martin (the late Harry) and Beverly Peraza (the late Alberto), his brother-in-law Walter Clifton, and his sister-in-law Lavonne Thomas. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Louis Marechal. Henry enlisted in the United States Navy in 1947 and proudly served his country for over twenty years until 1967. While he was in the Navy he completed his education, and served on many different ships, including the USS Ernest G. Small, USS Tarpon, USS Larson, and the USS Sperry. After retiring from the Navy, he went to work for St. Tammany Parish Hospital for over twenty years until he retired. During his retirement he enjoyed being home spending time with his family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM to service time. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM. Interment in Theodore Dendinger Cemetery, Madisonville, LA will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Henry to be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation. US Navy ===================
