He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Gordon C. Ousset and Kathleen Ann Maria Gagliano Ousset, and was a lifelong resident of Chalmette. Matt graduated from Chalmette High School in 1980, and began his employment at Antoine’s Restaurant at the age of 18, as a bus boy, and worked his way up to General Manager. He was a wine connoisseur and his pleasure in life was gardening, especially plants that attracted butterflies. Matt would gather the butterfly eggs, hatch them, then watch them fly free into the world. Father of two daughters, Megan Ora Dinh-Ousset (Jessica) and Maci Michel Ousset. Husband of the late Melinda Michel Ousset and ex-husband of Bridget Elizabeth Kling. He is also survived by his step-mother, Laura Wallace Ousset, his mother-in- law, Frances Heully Michel, his sister, Bridget Ousset Appel, his step-brother, Brian James Swaney (Ruby), his brother-in-laws, Edward John Appel, Sr. and Alcuin Henry Michel (Chris Ann), sister-in-law, Melody Michel Mattolini, his devoted and loving uncle, Glenn Raymond Ousset, his uncle, John D. Gagliano and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Matt was preceded in death by his grandparents, Theodore Atchison Ousset, Mildred Cazetta Ousset, Salvador Stephen Gagliano and Ora Kirchem Gagliano. A farewell celebration will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Cabrini High School, 1400 Moss Street, New Orleans. ===================
