Beloved husband of the late Kay Joyce Stevens Porter. Father of Kayjoyce Porter Saraceno, and the late Olive Lorraine Marie Porter. Son of the late Frederick and Henrietta Porter. Brother of the late Myrlin Porter, Olive Porter and Phillip Bossenmeyer. Also survived by his companion Barbara Davis, and numerous cousins and friends. Born, December 26, 1929 in New Orleans, he was also a former resident of New Orleans, Metairie and Slidell. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. After attending Delgado Community College, he worked for the IBEW Local 130 as an electrician for over 30 years. At the time of his passing he was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the Pearl River United Methodist Church. As a former member of the First Assembly of God in Pearl River, he served on the Board of Elders, as Treasurer, and as a personal advisor to Pastor Tony Scheffler. The remains of Oliver will be laid to rest at Porter’s Cemetery, Pearl River, La., where a private celebration of life will be held for him, his wife, Kay S. Porter and his daughter, Olive Porter.
