She was 90 years young and full of life until the very end. Born July 5, 1926 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Charles Lala and Ethel Brittnacker Lala. Her marriage to the late Anthony Pumilia set an example of how great a marriage should be. Wonderfully loving mother to the late Cathy Pumilia and survived by Charles Pumilia and his wife Debbie. Sister to the late Charles, Hilliard, Jewel Lala Barnett (Walter), Clifford (Betty), Nestor, and Blaise Lala (Rachel). Lovingly called Gram by her grandchildren, Joe Licata, Nick Licata (Lindsay), Lisa Pumilia Giroir (Marx), Cristina Pumilia, and Brandon Beahm. Dominic Giroir, Vince Licata, and Drew Licata are incredibly lucky to have had her as a great-grandmother. Ethie enjoyed her life to the fullest, taking every opportunity to extend her love to everyone she knew. Her love was abounding and she gave it freely. She never missed an opportunity to put on her dancing shoes and show off her spirited moves. She had an intense passion for food and an amazing talent for cooking, which she used to feed her family with all of her heart. No one ever went hungry in Gram’s house; that was one of the many ways she showed people her love. We grieve our loss, but are comforted by knowing she is now with the love of her life, Tony, and her angel, Cathy. Ethie would want us to celebrate her life by showing other people love, having fun, laughing, cooking, and dancing in her honor. A memorial celebration will be held late summer for family and friends to honor Ethie’s remarkable life ===================
