Rittler, 85 of Mandeville, LA passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017. He was born on August 14, 1931 in New Orleans, LA to the late Fred L. Rittler and the late Mabel Breecher Rittler. Fred is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Sarah “Sugar” Mayeaux Rittler; his four sons Fred L. Rittler, Jr. and his wife Joy, Kenneth G. Rittler and his ex-wife Cindy, Michael J. Rittler and his wife Rosary, and Thomas J. Rittler and his wife Beth; five grandchildren Melissa (Ron), Shelley (Jason), Kenneth, Jr. (Alli), Sarah (Jacob), and Dustin (Brandy); four great- grandchildren Jason, Jr., Elijah, Evelyn, and Lillian. He is preceded in death by his sister Joy Rittler Desforges. Fred was a native of New Orleans, LA and a North Shore resident since 1993. He was a bank manager at Whitney National Bank for 45 years before retiring. Fred was an avid fisherman, duck hunter, and lived and breathed purple and gold. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 12:00 Noon with visitation on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery, St. Benedict, LA. In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred or donations in memory of Fred to be made to St. Joseph Abbey Pennies for Bread ===================
