She spent her last week of life at Canon Inpatient Hospice Center in New Orleans, Louisiana surrounded by dear friends and family members. She was born Sunday, July 24, 1988 in Atlanta, Georgia to Anngela Brown Williams and Zachary David Williams. The beloved wife of Christopher Callahan, the young couple made their home in Covington, Louisiana for the past two years. Amber is survived by her parents and parents-in-love Deondra and Billy Ray Callahan; her sister Jennifer Urrego (Hernan); brother Zachary Williams, Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Amber attended North Carolina A&T University and received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina. Amber's servant heart led her to move from North Carolina to New Orleans, Louisiana to help her family care for her first niece. She found precious community and spiritual family at Church of the King and went on to spend most of her professional career working under the pastoral ministries team at the church. Amber met and fell in love with Christopher Callahan. Their beautiful love story and strong marriage captivated the hearts of many as they served alongside one another, discipled young people, led small groups, and taught God's word together. The last 10 months of marriage their relationship was tested with the taxing trials of fighting an aggressive cancer. However, they faithfully passed the test, showing us all a tangible example of God's tender care for His people and a strong faith in Christ that brings love, hope and peace even in the toughest of circumstances. We are all forever changed by Amber's bright spirit, servant heart, infectious smile, quiet strength, wisdom, devotion to her husband and loved ones, and beauty. We want to give a special thanks to every member of Amber's Army who covered Amber and Chris in prayer and loved them so well. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service celebrating Amber's life at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Church of the King, 22205 Little Creek Rd Mandeville, LA 70471. Visitation on Friday morning will begin at 9:00 AM. A wake is scheduled to take place at Church of the King on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 6:00 PM -8:00 PM. Interment at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington, LA will immediately follow the funeral service in Friday. ===================
