Sal, a New Orleans native, is the son of Annie Fay Thomaston Engolia and the late Salvador Engolia, Sr. He attended St. Aloysius High School and graduated in 1967. A devoted Navy man, he proudly served his country in Vietnam. He later pursued an 18 year career as a driver trainer supervisor at United Parcel Service. After retirement, he owned and operated his business, Target Arms, as a FFL dealer and NRA Firearms Safety Instructor. As a member of the GoldWing Road Riders Association, he served as Chapter Director for six years. Sal is survived by his wife of 35 years, Charlotte C. Engolia; sons, Stephen Engolia, Christopher Engolia and Salvador Engolia, III; daughter, Constance Silbernagel; his mother; brother, Joseph Engolia; sister, Susan DeHart; sisters-in-law, Candice Engolia and Sandra Hingle; brother-in-law, Norman Hingle, Jr; nephew, Ricky English. He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Patricia Buttone and brother- in-law, Harold Buttone. He had many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. His extended family included his “adopted children”, GoldWing Road Riders, and many other close friends that he was honored to call family. He adored spending time with people, laughing and enjoying life. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Slidell, LA. Visitation at Honaker Funeral Home on Monday, July 10, 2017 from 9:00 A.M. until funeral time at 11:00A.M.
