Leroy M. “Roy” Smith, Jr, of Lacombe, LA, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017. 
He was 73 years old. 

Beloved husband of Jeanette S. Smith, for 54 years. 
Father of Denise Smith Johnson (Donald “DJ”) and Scott Michael Smith(Irene).
Grandfather of Tayler Alexandra and Tristen Alexis.
Son of the late Leroy M. Smith, Sr., and Juliette Nevel Smith; brother of the 
late Simone Smith Sherlock.
 
Roy was a Veteran of the National Guard. He retired from the New Orleans Police 
Department after 28 years of service, then served as CSO for the Marshalls 
Service for twenty years. Roy was an avid golfer and woodworker. He loved to 
travel and fished in his pond from sunup to sundown. 

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Services 
at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), 
Slidell, LA on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 1:00 P.M.
 
Visitation at Honaker Funeral Home on Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 11:00 A.M. 
until 1:00 P.M. 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Tammany Sheriff's Office, 
300 Brownswitch Road, Slidell LEC, Slidell, LA 70458, Attn: SOD
