Adams “rides again” with the angels Sunrise: February 25, 1952 Sunset: August 20, 2017 Marc was a soulful rhythm-and-blues musician and an accomplished singer-song writer. He was loved by everyone for his sense of humor and his sweet nature. His world revolved around his music. His prowess on the keyboard and B3 organ landed him in the center of the city’s blues’ scene, having performed locally, and toured nationally & internationally with the likes of the Dixie Cups, Marva Wright, Tab Benoit, Bryan Lee, Irma Thomas, Brother Tyronne, Colin Lake, Eric Lindell, Ian Cunningham, Andy Forrest and countless other renowned artists of varied genres, which was a testament to his versatility and musical genius. For the past 10 years, he was the house piano man at Irene’s Cuisine Restaurant. He was a frequent site on the New Orleans Jazz Fest & French Quarter Fest stages. His body of work includes three c.d.s that he produced, as well as scores of other projects on which he collaborated. He was the loving husband of Clare Adams, stepfather of Troy Holley (Laurie) and Todd Holley (Janeen). “Poppa” to his granddaughters Daphne, Erin and Lucy Holley; Loving son of Janice Hyatt Adams, brother of Laurie Klein (David), Troy Adams (Roxanna) & Cindy Adams; Uncle of Gideon, Gabriel, Alissa & Natalie (Daniel). Nephew of Janice Lambert. He was preceded in death by his father Dr. Albert Adams of Davison, MI. Special thanks to Father Tony of our Lady of Guadaloupe Church, Irene DiPietro for her kindness & generosity; Dr. Scot Sonnier, Dr. Ellen Zakris and Dr. Jennifer Bertsch, who saw him so kindly through all the years of his illness. A shout out to all the nurses at Touro Infusion center Ally, Christine, Teri & Angela; to the Oncology nurses on the 5th floor Batchy, Leah & C.C., to Ann & Kathy at Passages Hospice; Angelle Trosclair and Jeff Greenberg who were always there to step in when Marc needed them. The memorial service celebrating Marc’s life will be held at Our Lady of Guadaloupe Church at 411 North Rampart St., on Sunday, September 10, 2017, at 3:00 pm. Immediately following, there will be a repast at Irene’s Cuisine Restaurant, 539 St. Philip Street. Following the repast, there will be a second line from Irenes’ to the river where flowers will be thrown to close out the celebration. A musical tribute to Marc will be held at the Rock-n-Bowl, 3000 South Carrollton Ave., on Monday, September 11, 2017 from 7pm-10pm ===================
