Beloved wife of the late John Galen Brubaker. Mother of James R. Brubaker(Socorro), William A. Brubaker, Janet A. Brubaker. Daughter of the late Wallace Jones and Ruth Boyles Jones. Sister of Miriam Knipfer. Also survived by 2 grandchildren, Amanda G. Keim(Chad) and Timothy J. Brubaker. A native of Columbus, Ohio and longtime resident of Slidell, LA. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Marilyn graduated from secretarial school and began a job with the Navy where she met her husband John. Her life then became devoted to raising her three children. She willingly and devotingly traveled to many areas of the U.S, including Florida, Georgia, California, Ohio, New Mexico and finally Louisiana. In addition to raising a family, she helped out in John’s many add-on ventures including owning and working with a tire shop and a pet store. She loved Mardi Gras parades, collecting Beanie Babies and her devoted pets. She helped raise her granddaughter with devoted love. She was a quiet, reserved woman with a giant heart and will be missed immensely. Godspeed Mom! Memorial Services will be a the Chapel of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 360 Robert Blvd., Slidell, La., on Wednesday, November 8,2 017 at 12:00 o’clock noon. Visitation at the church will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Slidell, LA. at 1:30 p.m. Donations to the Slidell Memorial Hospital Foundation for help with thyroid patients, in her memory, preferred, in lieu of flowers. ===================
