Douglas Allan Raymer, 69, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Monday, August 14, 
2017.

He was married for 41 years and preceded in death by the love of his life Dr. 
Mary Raymer. 
He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his three children, 
Rebecca Vellier (Mike), Jennifer Garrison (Shawn), Daniel Raymer (Vicky), his 
five grandchildren; Kendall(Christopher), Hannah, Owen, Ryan, Tyler and his 
great grandson, Ezra. He is also survived by his three siblings, Gerald (Pat), 
Terry (Pam), and Ladine (Loyd) Dawkins. 

Doug was a member of the Army National Guard, a career mechanic and business 
owner. He is the Son of Douglas and Vera Raymer of Chadron, Nebraska. He was a 
loving and supportive father and grandfather who loved to fish, hunt, camp, 
boat, and had a love of all animals, especially his dog Roux. 

Interment will be held in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell, 
LA 70460 at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be given to the Louisiana Chapter 
of the Alzheimer’s Association, 2605 River Road, New Orleans, LA 70121.
