She was born on November 29, 1927 in Shadyside, LA to the late Albert Milton Besson, Sr. and Linda Mary Bodin. Joyce was married to her beloved husband, Roselus J. Simoneaux, for 63 years. She was the loving mother of Sidney Guy Edmond Landry (Doreen), Sandra Lynn Dupuy (Dallas), Barry J. Simoneaux (Connie), Roseland S. Richardson (Rhett), Simon Gabriel Simoneaux (the late Penny), the late Rickey Anthony Landry (the late Penny), and Asher Paul Simoneaux. Joyce was the sister of Shirley Wiese (the late Fred), the late Milton Besson, Jr. (Vanessa), and Dorothy Dover (the late John).She was very proud of her 36 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren. Joyce also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joyce worked as the manager of Frostop in Kenner, LA and Laplace, LA in the early 1960s. She then went to work for Troups Supermarket, later Nicholson and Loup Supermarket, in Kenner, LA. Joyce liked to sew, crochet, cook, and work with her hands. She will be dearly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church, 125 E. 19th Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 12:00 PM with visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow the Mass at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, Covington, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org, (800) 272-3900. ===================
