The following information was transcribed from a photocopy of 
the marriage certificate. 

State Of Louisiana - Parish of St. Tammany
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, THAT WE, Enoch Talley Jr. 
as principal and    ( left blank )
security, both of the Parish and State aforesaid, acknowledge 
ourselves held and firmy bound unto   (illegible)    Governor 
of the State of Louisiana, and his successors in office, in the
just and full sum of Five Hundred Dollars, for the payment of 
which well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, 
executors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by 
these presents, this 22nd day of January A.D., 1868.

The conditions of the above obligation is such, that whereas 
the above bound Enoch Talley Jr. has this day applied for 
license to marry Lucy Williams.

Now, therefore, if there shall exist no legal impediment or 
objection to the consummation of said marriage, then and in 
that case the above obligation to be null and void, else to 
remain in full force and virtue in law.

Executed before me this 22 day of January A.D. 1868.

You are hereby authorized and empowered to join in the holy 
Bonds of Matrimony Enoch Talley and Lucy Williams and when 
you have so done, please return a duplicate thereof to the 
Clerk of the Sixth Judicial District Court of the Parish 
aforesaid, at the town of Covington, according to law.
GIVEN UNDER MY HAND and Seal of Office this 22 day of 
January A.D. 1868.

Received this License on the 24th of Jan. 1868 
(illegible) it same date by marrying the within named 
parties in the presence of Paul L. Gusman, John Talley 
& James Magee in the Parish of St. Tammany, La.
