The following information was transcribed from a photocopy 
of the marriage certificate. 

State of Louisiana
St. Tammany Parish

This is to certify that by virtue of the (illegible) in 
License and an application of the parties I did celebrate 
the rites of matrimony between Mr. E. Talley  and Sylvania 
Cooper both of this state and prnounced them man and wife 
according the Laws of the State of Louisiana.  I have caused 
said parties to sign this marriage (illegible) on the third 
day of Dec. 1870 in my presence of the undersigned witnesses 
of lawful age.  In witness thereof I have   (illegible) signed 
my name officially day & dated above.
