Ballard Cemetery

Located south of Bell Road, approximately 3.2 miles east of it's
intersection with La. 16, east of Amite La., Then approximately 3/4
miles on David Lanier Road, on David Lanier property.

The headstones were not erect, but were laying on the ground.
Other graves marked with stone, but with no markings.
I am told that there are twenty graves in the cemetery.

Visited by Belford Carver, December 11, 2001.  This cemetery is located at the end 
of Dave Lanier Lane, 0.8 of a mile from Bell Road, Ward 5, near the residence and 
business of Lanier Surveying Company, 59360 Dave Lanier Lane.  GNIS coordinates 304258N 902420W.  T4S R8E Sec 9.  

In 1997, Mr. Dave Lanier donated one acre of land to the Parish for a "Potter's 
Field" which is now  part of this old Ballard Cemetery.  It is enclosed by a chain 
link fence.
