Cooper Cemetery
(Old)

Located southeast of Amite, La. Approximately 0.5 miles east of North cooper Road On 
Neal Road, then approximately 1/4 miles south of Neal Road.  There is no road to this 
cemetery, and it is located on property now owned by Emile Everett.

In addition to the above, there are numerous grave sites marked only by the planting of 
a gardenia bush at the head and foot of the burial site.  I am told that a Negro slave is 
buried in the northeast corner, marked by gardenia plants as noted above,   This 
information was given by Rita Everett who is now living on the property.
