Booty Road and East Lewiston Road, Ward 2, Sec 41, T1S, R8E. Attempts were made by Belford Carver to find a path into this cemetery on October 3 and 7, 2000. It is inaccessible as of these dates due to the thickness of the trees, shrubs, and weeds. Ms. Beverly McIntyre, who lives in this general area, confirmed that such a cemetery exists. It is also marked on the Spring Creek quadrangle map. This cemetery was recorded by Herbert and Marilyn Hart in 1975 with the following graves listed: DEAN Malissa L, 1867 - 1926 Charles F., 1860 - 1905 Infant of C. F. & M. L. Dean Born & Died July 24, 1904 Cullin W., son of C. F. & M. L. Dean Sep 21, 1905 - Aur 15, 1906 Charles F. Dean Aug 5, 1858 - Oct 16, 1905 (only footmarker in place, headstone & inscription moved) According to their diagram, page 94, there were three unmarked graves in the row with Charles F. Dean. They also gave the distance from Lewiston Baptist Church as 2 miles. At the time of their visit, they noted there was no fence, but it was cleared and the gravesites were clean. (This would be east of the church on East Lewiston Road.) (Evelyn Carter submitted information on this cemetery, 3/7/01, stating it is on the land belonging to the Sanders. Also, there were graves with no markers. She recorded dates for Charles F. Dean as Aug 5, 1860 - Oct 16, 1905. His name apparently appears twice in the above, with two different years of birth. It is closed.) Data input by Belford Carver, 3/7/01 ************************************************ File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/tangipahoa/cemeteries/dean.txt
