It is about 100 yards south of Bell, and about 50 yards west of Briar Patch, in very dense shrubs. A big thanks to Mr. Weston Voight of 20282 East Bell Road who guided me to this grave on April 17, 2001. He at one time leased the property for this dairy herd. Proveaux D. Donaldson May 11, 1898 - August 21, 1948 It is a slab with the headstone cemented to the slab in a slightly raised position. Mr. Donaldson desired to be buried on his old home place. The property has changed hands a number of times according to Mr. Voight. Mrs. Terri Voight, mother of Weston, stated that his wife was Mary White Donaldson and is buried at Shiloh Church of Christ Cemetery, which is nearby on Bell Road. (Her dates: 1892-1977) They had four children: Virginia Swinney, living in New York; Robert; Evelyn Gradwohl (deceased); and Proveaux. He was a carpenter, dairyman, and grew lots of garlic. The land is owned by the Floyd Terrebone (Loranger) estate today. She confirmed that this is the only grave located here and was his desire to be buried on his old home place. Belford E. Carver April 17, 2001 The following from Maurice Varnado, friend of this family, July 20, 2004: Robert Donaldson is now deceased. The son, Proveaux Donaldson, is living on the West Bank of Jefferson Parish, LA.
