On March 29, 2001, Mr. E. P. McDaniel related to me a story that has been handed 
down that Mr. Jefferson Davis McDaniel traveled by foot to Kentwood, LA, to 
purchase a coffin for one of his children that had died.  The weather was cold 
and wet, and Mr. McDaniel came down with pneumonia and died.  (See No. 10.)  
Afterwards, the family moved to California.  He hasn't had contact with the 
descendants in years.
 
The owner of the land on which the cemetery is located is Gerald Broussard who is 
a more recent owner; ownership has changed hands several times over the years.
