PONCHATOULA (BLACK) (METHODIST) CEMETERY, TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA Recorded and Submitted to the USGenWeb Archives by Belford Carver, May 4, 2001. ************************************************ Copyright. All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************ PONCHATOULA (BLACK) (METHODIST) Located just east of the Ponchatoula City Limits, off Esterbrook Road, on Cemetery Road. This road runs north then turns east dividing the cemetery in approximately two halves. I was told by a couple cutting the grass that the south side is the "Baptist" side and the north side is called the "Methodist" side. This is probably reference to New Zion Baptist and Tasker Memorial AME Zion, both located in Ponchatoula. Sec 17 T7S R8E. Recorded by Belford Carver, May 4, 2001. AG means above ground. ID means no identification visible. FM is funeral marker. Absence of AG means that the grave is in the ground. Mil stands for military marker.
