GNIS coordinates: 304258N 902420W. T4S R8E Sec 9. It is the same location as the Ballard Cemetery. Thanks to Mr. Jim DeFrain of the Office of the Tangipahoa Parish Coroner who told me about this cemetery and guiding me to it on December 11, 2001. In 1997, Mr. Dave Lanier donated one acre of land for this cemetery which is on his land and also encompasses the old Ballard Cemetery. It has a chain link fence surrounding it and is maintained by the Parish. When the Coroner's Office cannot determine the next of kin of the deceased, or the next of kin cannot provide for the burial, they are interred in this cemetery. Headstones have been provided except for the two most recent burials. Mr. DeFrain said that headstones would be provided for these in the future as funds are available. The first person buried here was Donald Hutton, June 8, 1935 - May 17, 1997. (One of four that were cremated prior to burial.) David Frizzell, Oct 3, 1955 - Feb 27, 1999 FM: Lewis Faulkner, 1928 - 2001 FM: Willie Williams, 1934 - 2000 The following three were cremated and the ashes placed here: Edward A. French, July 1, 1926 - Nov 13, 1997 Trula F. Yeager, Nov 26, 1932 - Dec 12, 1998 Clarence Becknell, Nov 12, 1927 - Mar 14, 1999 END -Belford E. Carver-
