Minutes of the 25th Annual Session of the Bogue Chitto Baptist Association
Sept 22, 1894

James Herrington... was born Dec 15, 1829, on Myres Creek near Bogue Chitto
Station, Lincoln Co., MS and died Oct 1, 1893.  He was married to Elizabeth
Hodges, Sept 17, 1854.  She died and he married Sarah M. Yarbrough , Dec 6,
1860.  Until 1877 she died, and he married again on Jan 1, 1891, to Martha
Rowlins.  He united with the Shady Grove Baptist Church in 1850, after which
he went into the constitution of the Pleasant Hill Church I where he remained
until 1870.  He went back to Shady Grove by letter and in 1873 went by letter
in to Mr. Pleasant Church.  He leaves a wife and 6 children and a host of
friends.  MT. PLEASANT

Willis Bowman... was born in Pike Co., MS  Oct 30. 1822.  He died Dec 22, 1893,
aged 71 years and 1 month and 33 days.  He was married to Elizabeth Price Dec
6, 1848.  He united himself with the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Aug 2, 1870.
And was baptized by Rev. W.H. Bailey.  He moved his membership to Shady Grove
Church and then to Moak's Creek  He was totally blind before his death.
MOAK'S CREEK

Elizabeth Hughes Rhodus... was born Jan 13, 1839, married Thomas Rhodus, Jan 27.
1876, and moved from Pike Co. MS to Tangipahoa Parish , LA.   She united with
Mt. Zion Church and was baptized by Eld. EM Schilling, Aug 7, 1890.  She died
July 11, 1894.  She leaves 2 children , 1 grandchild, 5 brothers and 2
sisters.  MT. ZION

J. Marshal Varnado... son of Bro. Emanuel and Sister Sarah Varnado, died Aug.
12, 1894.  He was born in this county Feb. 9m 1837.  He united with Mt. Zion
Church, and was baptized Nov 4 1857.  He married Miss Jane V McDaniel, Jan 12,
1860.  He leaves a large family of children , brothers and sisters.  MT ZION

Thedras Scarbrough... was born Sept. 19, 1841. She united with Rameh Church
after which she came to our church with letter in 1887.  She leaves a husband
and 6 children to morn her loss.  MT. PLEASANT

Mary Elizabeth Price... daughter of Jesse and Elizabeth Price, was born Aug 20,
1876.  She joined the Shady Grove Church Aug 1891, and united with Moak's
Creek by letter in 1892.  She died Oct 1, 1893, leaving a mother, 4 sisters,
and 3 brothers to mourn her loss.  MOAK'S CREEK

William Stephenson... died Apr 28, 1894 in Pike CO. MS On May 19, 1837, he
married Elizabeth Strickling.  Both were baptized into the Salem, now Magnolia
Baptist Church.  After she died, he married Elizabeth Ballard .  After she
died, he married Mary E. Reagan.  He leaves a widow and 17 children.  When he
died he was 82 years of age.  Funeral services were conducted by Rev. WP
Price.  MAGNOLIA

Adline Wallace... Was born June 17, 1855, in Amite Co., MS.  She united with
MT. Pleasant Church July 3,, 1874.  And was baptized by Bro. BA Crawford.  She
married H.A. Wallace in Nov 1875.  She died in Feb 1894, leaving 6 children.
MT. PLEASANT

Judith Williams... Daughter of Richard Shateric and wife, was born Dec 27,
1813,  He married James Williams Nov 24, 1836. And died July 16, 1894.  She
and her husband drew their letters form Friendship Church and united with
Moak's; Creek July 25, 1876.  Her husband died Feb 2, 1888.  MOAK'S CREEK

Zachariah Moak... Died Mar 2, 1894 , son of Andrew and Susan Moak.  He was born
Sept 18, 1830 in Pike Co., MS and married Sept 12, 1859, to Serena Brown, who
with 10 children survived him,  He joined Moak's; Creek Baptist church by
letter Oct 2, 1870.  MOAK'S CREEK

JD Johnston... son of William and Emiline Johnston, was born in Lincoln CO.,
MS, Oct 3, 1869..  He married Thedius Moak, dau. of MM and Frances Moak, Nov
23, 1887  He united with the MT. Pleasant Church July 1886.  He died Oct 13,
1893, leaving a wife and children  . MT. PLEASANT

Mitilda King... Was born Pike Co., MS , July 9, 1830, was married to FM Price,
Jan 1851.  She united with MT. Pleasant Church Oct 26, 1860, and was baptized
by Eld. SW Bullock.  She married JF King in 1865.  She died July 18, 1894,
leaving 2 sons and 1 daughter. MT. PLEASANT
