All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************ Old Deeds of Washington Parish, as copied and sent to Tangipahoa Parish when it was formed: Volume 1, page 34 David and Nancy Taylor to Peter Bankston No. 884 State of Louisiana Parish of Washington Be it remembered that on this 11 Oct. 1825 that we David and Nancy Taylor of the State and Parish aforesaid have this day sold and delivered unto Peter Bankston of the State and Parish a Certain tract or parcel of Land lying and being situated in the Parish aforesaid on the East prong of Big Creek Containing Six hundred and forty acres More or less bounded as follows West by lands of William B. Liggon Congress land South East and North. This sale being made for the sum of five hundred dollars to be paid as follows four promissory notes having date with this instrument one for one hundred dollars due January 1826 one due January 1827 for one hundred and thirty three dollars one due January 1828 for one hundred and thirty three dollars and one due January 1829 for one hundred and thirty four dollars for and in consideration of the Sum above mentioned I the said David Taylor and Nancy Taylor do warrant and defend the Right of the above described tract of land from us our heirs and assigns and from all other persons unto the said Peter Bankston his heirs etc. In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands signed in presence of David Taylor (seal) and Nancy Taylor (seal) John B. Easly P. B. Smith. State of Louisiana Parish of Washington Personally came and appeared before me the undersigned Judge of said Parish Peter B. Smith and after being duly sworn according to law declares on oath that he was present and saw the parties sign the foregoing letter or instrument of writing for the uses and purposes therein contained and further declares that he saw John B.
