Wright Et al. to Thos Connolly, No. 369 State of Louisiana, Cty. of New Orleans: Be it Known that on this day before me William CHRISTY a Notary Public in and for the city and Parish of New Orleans, State of Louisiana aforesaid and duly commissioned and Sworn personally came and appeared Isaac H. WRIGHT of the Parish of Washington in this state herein acting as the agent and _____ in fact of his wife Mrs. Catherin MERIDETH by virtue of a power of attorney presented before Peter BANKSTON a Notary Public in and for Said Parish on the 28th March 1839 and also of Daniel NEWTON of the Said Parish by Virtue of a power of attorney presented before the Same Notary in the 29th March 1839 duly certified coppies of which Said powers of attorney they hereunto _____ for reference which Said appearers declared for the consideration hereinafter expressed he does in Said Several ____ by those presents Grant Bargain Sell Convey transfer assign and Set over with a full guarantee against all trouble debt mortgage Claims evictions donations alienations or other incumbrances whatsoever unto Thomas CONNOLLY of this City present accepting and purchasing for himself his heirs and assigns and acknowledging delivery and possession thereof a certain tract or Parcel of Land together with all the improvements thereon with privileges Customs ______ ways and appertenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. Situate in the Parish of Washington aforesaid lying on Big Creek bounded as follows South by Dunbars branch East by Hezekiah ROBERTSON North by Creek of Green BRADFORD and West by Simeon BANKSTON and containing three hundred acres more or less of which Sixty or Seventy acres are cleared the one undivided half of said tract was purchased by the Said Mrs. Catherine Wright from David Headen ROBERTSON by act filed before Benj. Richardson Judge and Exofficio Notary Public in and for the said Parish of Washington on the 29th of September 1835 and the other half of said land was purchased by the said Daniel Newton from Hezakiah ROBERTSON by act under ______ signature dated on the fourth day of March Eighteen thirty seven duly acknowledged before the said Peter Bankston Notary on the sixth day of the same month the said tract of Land is free from incumbrances appears from the annexed Certificate of the Recorder of Mortgages of Parish of Washington dated on 20th day of March, 1839 to have and to hold the said land rights privileges etc from the said purchasers for their proper use and behoof forever and the said Vendor in his said capacity the said Lands rights privileges etc to the said purchaser his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend against the Lawful claims of all persons whomsoever by these presents and the said Vendor in his capacity moreover subrogates the said purchaser to all rights and actions of warranty which his said stitutents has or may have against their own Vendor or the Vendors of their Vendors fully authorizing the same purchaser to exercise the said rights and actions in the same manner as his said stitutents might or could have done. This sale is made for and in consideration of the sum of twenty eight hundred dollars which has been well and duly paid to the said Isaac H. Wright who hereby acknowledges the receipt whereof and the said Wright moreover binds himself to procure and deliver to the said Purchaser copies of the preceeding Title to the said tract of land within the reasonable time. This done and passed at my office at the City of New Orleans aforesaid in the presence of W. G. Lathone and H C. Chun witnesses of lawful age and domiciliated in this City who hereto signed their names together with the said parties and me the said Notary on the fifty day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty nine.
