The annual election of officers Monday night completed organization of the group for the ensuing year. Oscar Vitter, chief, and Cliff Drott, first-assistant-chief, were returned to their respective offices, as were Alvin J. Marmillion, treasurer, and James D. Sellers, secretary. Yunog Ridgdell, formerly a first-assistant-chief, was named second-assistant, replacing Dr. W. T. Miller. Selected to serve on the board of governors were: Dr. Miller, chairman; Cage Harriss, C. W. Lavigne, M. A. Cowen and W. C. Hawkins. The Ponchatoula fire department, one of the most efficient organization of its kind in Louisiana, was formed in 1920.
