Among the number is the two story wooden framework structure, the former Edward P. Dameron Sr., home located on the corner of North Pine and West Michigan streets. An old-fashioned fence enclosed the grounds when built. The bannister railings, the gables and intricate filigree work are all earmarks of yesteryear. The house, built around 1890, holds interest and memories for the Dameron and Fourmy family members, and remains in the same spot next to the Southeastern Louisiana University Alumni House, North Pine. (From ECHOES FROM THE ATTIC, V, 1970, by Edna Campbell) (Pic of house) (The Alumni House mentioned above has moved into new quarters on West University Avenue. The Office of the Honors Program occupies the old Samuel Hill home at 611 North Pine. The Dameron home is owned by Southeastern Louisiana University today, and currently isn't being used. BEC 1/30/01)
