The spacious lodge lounge spells hospitality for the Christian Church groups, the Boy Scouts, family gatherings and other gatherings. Mrs. Hans Schneider wearing a Dolly Madison inspired Bicentennial dress was assisted in receiving by her husband and members of the Christians Womens Fellowship. All were in bicentennial dress. A Tiffany lamp illuminated the table where a flag flown over the Capital during the inauguration of President Dwight Eisenhower given to the late Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Reimers by Congressman James H. Morrison was displayed. An authentic letter from George Washington of 1760 was anonymously displayed. Of interest in the lounge room is a table from a KAI-WII tree from Aruba called DIVI DIVI, along with other Hawaiian accents. Each of the rooms in the lodge feature a different wall paneling including red gum, tide water red cypress, Southern Ash and magnolia, all very rare, bearing the earmarks of a real lumberman designer. Plank flooring, also a rarity, covered the lounge floor and hardwood oak flooring on other rooms. The spacious wooded area for the ledge setting includes additional structures including the original building, bath houses and cottages surrounding the large swimming pool. The lodge was acquired by the Reimers family about 25 years ago. (From ECHOES FROM THE ATTIC, IX, 1976, by Edna Campbell)
