Scott is a grand new contemporary brick home, designed to suit the special interests and needs of the Scotts and their daughter, Evelyn, who is studying law at LSU. Mrs. Scott, a long time excellent gardener, personally executes and directs the endless list of garden chores that keep her garden in tip top shape. The house boasts a cathedral ceiling and huge log burning fir place in the living dining area which looks thru a glass wall to the private back deck. Here potted plants and comfortable furniture lure you outdoors. A low redwood wall increases the feeling of privacy. The large rear yard is trimmed with leather leaf Virburnum and includes a special rose garden for Mrs. Scott and some vegetables for the doctor. One wing is devoted to the Scotts own living quarters and includes a large bedroom dressing room, and a sauna bath. The other wing contains Evelynís room, a guest room and the Doctor's home office and study. This has a private entrance. Of particular interest, is the brick walled entrance patio, entered through a wrought iron gate. The patio floor is bricked, as is a large pool graced by a hand made copper fountain depicting Louisiana native cat tails. The south wall displays hanging ferns and two built in planters containing hardy Leather Leaf fern. Holly fern, and asparagus fern. Another area combines Japanese Black Pine, Cacti, Yucca, Sedum and Green Carpet Juniper in a contemporary planting. A large natural drift wood sculpture is featured in this bed. Fashion azaleas, gardenias, impatiens and caladium are grouped in another bed. Two yellow tree roses in red wood container flank the front door of carved walnut.
