Softball Game at PHS Wednesday Night, 8 OK (sic) A treat is in store for the citizens in Ponchatoula next Wednesday night when the newly organized Lions Club will play a game of softball with the Rotary club. Before the war the Rotary Club boasted of an undefeated aggregation known as the Romping Rotarians which club played several games arrayed in rompers of various hues. Since that time many of the players on that team have gone into the service of our country but there is still enough of the old crowd left to make the game next Wednesday interesting to the fans. Just to prove to the citizens of Ponchatoula that an interesting game is in the makinng (sic) we refer you to the following lineups: Rotary Club: Dr. Trellue ­ Joe Liebert 3 base H. Colmer ­ Dr. Scott 1 base J. Vaughan ­ P. Williams 2 base D. Pittman ­ S. Yawn short stop W. E. Butler ­ Roy Burris S.F. Outfielders: Perrin, Fuller, Robards, Carley, M. Fannaly, Phelps, W. Lavigne, Pierson, Smith, Richardson, Wood, Wells, Dwyer, Wilcombe, Sellers, Granier, Hungate. Pitching Staff: H. J. Lavigne, John Dahmer and W. C. Hawkins. The game will be played at the Ponchatoula high school athletic field beginning at eight o¹clock. A small admission charge will be made for the benefit of the clubs.
