On Sunday, November 14th, this pair of sweethearts, devoted now as they were on that November day a half century ago, will receive the congratulations of children, relatives and friends at their home in Kentwood. There will be thirty-three or more gathered around the dining table for a dinner party at noon and from 3 to 5 in the afternoon there will be "open house" so that all friends of this venerable old couple may drop by to extend their best wishes to them. Mr. and Mrs. Broyles have resided in Kentwood for about 40 years, having spent the first ten years of their married life in Kentucky where the former was born and reared. At the time of their marriage the bride was only 17 years of age and the groom just 24. Their marriage has been an ideal one and to this union was born nine daughters and three sons. When they celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Sunday, they will have all of their children with them, namely: Mrs. John Shoemake of Kentwood, Mrs. John E. Guess of Hammond, Mrs. Otto Hervig of Laurel, Miss, Mrs. Elmer Rubush of Jackson, Miss., Mrs. Clara Holbrook of Hammond, Mrs. George C. Neelis, Jr. of Hammond, Miss Helen Broyles of Kentwood, Mrs. Alvin Marmillion of Hammond, Mrs. S. E. Dean of Osyka, Miss., J. H. Broyles and Frederick Broyles of Kentwood and W. G.
