Thomas Bryan Pugh, Jr., second son of Dr. T.B. Pugh, was born in Napoleonville, Louisiana where he received his early education. He was graduated from the Louisiana State University with a B.A. degree in the Class of 1911 and a M.A. degree in 1939. After graduation he taught two years in the public schools of Assumption Parish. Since 1913, he has been connected with the Independence schools, for two years as teacher and thirty-three years as principal. In 1925, he was a member of the faculty of the Louisiana Polytechnic Institute and in 1936, he was elected superintendent of the schools of Tangipahoa, which position he resigned to resume his principalship of the Independence schools.
