In this annual we hope to preserve many laughable and cherishable memories that otherwise would be forgotten. You might find some imperfections, but we know that you sympathize with our efforts in endeavoring to bring you an annual that you will always treasure. The Staff Kathy Lamonica Phyliss Sciortino Virginia Guiffreda Betty Jean Morgan Dedication The staff of the 1969 Il Ricordo loyally dedicates this annual to our parish of Tangipahoa, which marked its 100th birthday during the week of March 23-29, 1969. Tangipahoa Parish, formerly the land of the Choctaw Indians, was established in 1869 during the administration of Henry Clay Warmoth. It was carved from four parishes, namely: St. Tammany, Washington, St. Helena, and Livingston. Since that time, it has become one of the most interesting agricultural and industrial areas of our state. It is currently the "Parish of the Two S's" - strawberries and steel. Therefore, it is with great pride that the staff takes this opportunity to salute Tangipahoa Parish on its 100th birthday.
