Upon our graduation from the seventh grade we were very eager for the summer to pass because we had labored, hoped and waited for the day we would become freshmen. Finally, the day came when we found ourselves in high school as green and curious "Freshies," but we were very active. In our Sophomore year we spent much time in studying and as a result we entered the Junior Class with about forty-eight members. We were then upper classmen--at least to two classes! Feeling our knowledge was sufficient in the past two years, we determined to live up to the title of "Jolly Juniors." Under the sponshorhip of Miss Mary Greco and Miss Floyce Taylor we started on our merry way. Living up to our reputation of being a very ambitious class, we went into the Senior Class and made plans for putting out an annual, the first to be put out at this school. At the election of class officers, Guy Arnone was elected president; Ina Causey vice-president; and Fay Hughes secretary-treasurer. Our Senior year was full and happy. This was due to the guidance and efforts of Mrs. Helen Kluchin and Mrs. Olile Gill, our Senior sponsors. We have one of the smallest Senior Classes to graduate from Indy Hi in many years. By taking special courses seven members of our class graduated in the summer. The class has always greatly participated in any drive to help in the war effort of World War II -- especially Bond drives, scrap drives, Red Cross and Tuberculosis. Our class was honored with two returning veterans who found a need for high school diplomas. They are Mott Fleming, discharged from the Navy, and Angelo Levatino, discharged from the Merchant Marines. During these twelve years of school we have said goodbye to many class mates, several leaving for other schools, several into service. We have played hard, had lots of fun, and even learned a little. We all feel that we owe much to all our teachers and friends who have helped prepare us for the biggest school, -- "The School of Life." We have has a splendid time in the past four years and now with deep regret we say good-bye to Indy Hi and look forward to the future.
