Delightful refreshments were served by the hostess. Prizes were won by Misses Dolores Bonvillian and Dorothy Robinson. The club was glad to see Mrs. Paul Triche, Jr. back after her recent illness. Visit CCC Camp Misses Doris Schmidt, Bobby King, Adele Bodker, Dorothy Pusey, Velma Hoover and Lucia Jane Travis, and Mesdames Ned McGehee, Clinton Sharpe and Bruce Gaude motored to Mandeville Saturday afternoon where they were guests of Mrs. Stewart McClellan. After the playing of cards the guests enjoyed a visit through the C.C.C. camp, Comany (sic) 478, which is located in Mandeville. Attend Eastern Star Meeting Mesdames C. D. Gibson. Sr., E. E. Curtis, Richard Clanton and C. H. Lindsay attended the session of the Grand Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star Thursday and, Friday in New Orleans. Entertain at Shower Misses Mattie Louise and Julia Tucker entertained with a shower Friday night in honor of their cousin, Miss Miriam Jones. Miss Jones was the recipient of many lovely gifts. "Uncle Jake" Bogue Honored On 80th Birthday With Dinner Mr. Jake Bogue was honored with a birthday dinner Sunday on his eightieth birthday. Those helping him celebrate were Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Settoon, Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Faust, Sonny Boy McIntyre, and Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Stanga of Hammond. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Hawkins of Metairie also dropped in on Sunday afternoon to wish Mr. Bogue "Happy Birthday." Mr. Bogue is well and hearty and walks to his farm, about one and a half miles almost every day. *** Be sure and hear Charlie Ruggles and Benny Rubin Friday night from 800 to 8:30 on WWL. Miss Alma Clement of New Orleans spent Sunday with her brother, Mr. P. J. Clement, and family. Miss Biddy Borron of Baton Rouge is the house guests of Mrs. W. E. Butler this week. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mashburn of Hammond, are the proud parents of a son born Monday night. Mrs. J. Bourg of Jackson, Miss., is spending several weeks with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Liles. and family. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Babin of Lafayette were guests of Mrs. L. E. Layrisson, Sr., and family over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Layrisson. Jr. and son, Don; Mrs. Stella L. Parker and daughter, Miss Mary Louise Parker, visited friends in Bogalusa Thursday. Mrs. Frances Odell spent Friday with Mrs. Albert Wright Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ullrich of Baton Rouge were guests of Mrs. Louis Ullrich and Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Gulledge Sunday. Mrs. Irene Fike of New Orleans spent the week-end with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Turnage. Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Heitert of St. Louis. Missouri visited Mrs. T. M. Ward last week. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Kelly and two children of New Orleans were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Sellers Sunday. Mesdames John Perez, Rudolph Becker, and Charles Rush of New Orleans were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Sellers Monday. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Richardson and Mrs. Sam Yawn motored to New Orleans Monday. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Mulina of New Orleans were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. John Pugh over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Powell of Kentwood spent the week-end with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Pierson and family. Little Allen Pierson, Jr. returned to Kentwood with his grandparents to spend this week. Mrs. H. J. Leonard entertained her bridge club Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Georgia Bardwell spent the past week in New Orleans visiting relatives. Mrs. Charles Moulliet and son, Charles, Jr., visited Dr. and Mrs. P. C. Butcher in Houston, Texas several days last week. Dr. and Mrs. C. E. Lewis and children visited Dr. and Mrs. O. V. Lewis in Picayune, Mississippi, and Mrs. L. P. Newsom. and family in Poplarville, Mississippi, Sunday afternoon. Mrs. W. R. Kemp and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Elwin Kemp, left Wednesday for Washington where Mr. Elwin Kemp is employed at the present. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Drott visited relatives in New Orleans Thursday.
