She is survived by her husband Bernard B. Adams; two sons, Jessie R. Stafford and Alton A. Ferrill, both of Ponchatoula; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy K. Newman, Holden; a step-son, Don C. Adams, Pumpkin Center; a step-daughter, Diane Adams, Ponchatoula; a brother Roy E. Walker, Sr., Baton Rouge; her mother, Mrs. Artie Walker Blount, LaPlace;13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. DRURY, JOSESPHINE GIRALDA, 2 Jul 1980 Funeral services were conducted Sunday morning for Mrs. Josephine Giralda Drury, age 72, who died at her residence in Ponchatoula on Friday, Jun 27. DUFRECHE, AGNES HARRIS, 27 Feb 1980 Funeral services held Monday for Mrs. Agnes Harris Dufreche, 55, Ponchatoula, who died Saturday at her home. She is survived by her husband, C. J. Dufreche, Jr.; one son, Johnny B Harris; a daughter, Charlotte Basso, Hammond; two sisters, Mrs. Curleys Peltier, Lacombe and Mrs. Anthony Berner, Ponchatoula. FAULKENBERRY, EDMOND, 23 Apr 1980 Dr. Edmond Faulkenberry, age 56, long-time Poncahtoula physician, died Saturday in Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans of a heart attack. He had practiced medicine in Ponchatoula since 1956. JOINER, NORMA CUTRER, 6 Aug 1980 died Aug 4 in Baton Rouge MAJESTY, JOHN S., SR., 28 May 1980 Funeral services were conducted Sunday for John S. Majesty, Sr., who died May 25 at his residence in Ponchatoula. SUDDUTH, JOHN DANIEL, 7 May 1980 Funeral services for John Daniel Sudduth, 60, manager of the TG & Y Store in Berryland Shopping Center, were held Saturday. Sudduth was killed when a vehicle he was working on fell from a jack on him Thursday. THORN, WALTER "SONTEE", 9 Jan 1980 "Sontee" the bricklayer died here in the last week in December 1979. He was 92-years, six-months-old and was considered "a legend" by many people in Ponchatoula. Born Walter Thorn on July 11, 1887, "Sontee" became the best known bricklayer this city ever had. His professional craft, and personal reputation, made "Sontee" a highly respected black man in the city when racial prejudice was the norm, and outdoor signs told Blacks and Italians to be out of Ponchatoula when the sun set. TODD, LEONARD A., 5 Mar 1980 Services were conducted Tuesday for Leonard A. Todd, 80, who died Saturday at Seventh Ward Genreal Hospital. He was a contracted mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.
