August 13, 2003 Kentwood News Ledger NEIL "PETE" BELL Neil "Pete" Bell died at 2:53p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS. he was 87, a native of Castor and a resident of Kentwood. He was an insurance agent. Religious services were held at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, conducted by Rev. Percy Frazier, interment in the Woodland Cemetery, Kentwood. He is survived by his wife, Frances Tidwell Bell; a sister, Daisy Jones of Ringgold and a number of nieces and nephews. He was a member of Kentwood United Methodist Church. DENNIS WAYNE TRAVIS Dennis Wayne Travis died Tuesday, August 5, 2003 in Atlanta, GA. He was 17, a native of Houma and a resident of Woodstock, GA. He was a student. Religious services were held at Chesbrough Baptist Church, Chesbrough, conducted by Rev. John David Stewart, interment in the Tangipahoa Cemetery, Tangipahoa. He was a member of Glade Road Baptist Church in Acworth, GA. He is survived by his mother, Judy Hill Travis, Woodstock, GA; his father, Norman Wayne Travis, Acworth, GA; a sister, Beverlee Kathrina Woods, Mabelton, GA; a brother, Stephen Fred Killion, Tylertown, MS; a niece and nephew, Claudia Michelle and William Edward Wood, both of Mabelton, GA; his grandmothers, Katherine Jones, McComb, MS , and Pearl Travis Dykes, Tangipahoa; a step-grandmother, Coy Dykes, Tangipahoa; a special friend, Tommy Gilder, Acworth, GA; a girlfriend, Brianna Cantrell, Holly Springs, GA.; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, William Hill Jr. and Dennis Travis; great-grandparents, Garth and Vera McDavit; and an uncle Charles Hill. Isaiah 40:31 KJV. Rev. Otis H. Hope, "Paw Paw Otis" was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved his family dearly. He leaves us to cherish his loving memory. He went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 15, 2003. He was 72 and a native and resident of Kentwood. He was a retired Baptist Minister and a retiree of the Louisiana Department of Agriculture. He was also a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Korean War. Religious services were held at East Fork Baptist church, Kentwood followed by interment at Hope- Oliver Cemetery, Kentwood. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Avis O. Hope, Kentwood; his five sons and daughters- in- law, Ray and Margaret Hope of Maryland, Ricky and Cynthia Hope of Denham Springs, Ronnie and Debbie Hope of Baton Rouge, Rocky and Janice Hope of Prarieville, and Reggie and Shannon Hope of Florida; grandchildren, Kristy, Michael, Kyle, Faith, Ashley, Katie, Amie, Ricky Jr., Heather, Lauren, Tyler, Courtney, Lindsey, Allison, Alyshia, Marcus, Allie and Regina; two great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; three sisters, Margaret, Dot and Bill; two brothers, Alva and Donald. He was preceded by his parents, Bernard and Maggie Hope and two brothers, Kenneth and Nolan Hope.
