She was a retired employee of Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and a native of St. Gabriel. She was a retired registered nurse and a U.S. Navy nurse veteran of World War II. She lived in the Amite area for the past 20 years and moved to Hawthome last year.
