He was a retired from the Bell South Telephone Company; long time deacon at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Albany, he was a veteran of World War II with the United States Army. He was presiding judge over the Livingston train derailment case which lasted for five years. He practiced law from 1960 until his retirement in 2003, and served as a Louisiana State Representative from 1964 to 1968. Causey also served with distinction in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was graduate of Keiser High School, Keiser, Ark.; a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University earning a bachelor's of science degree in accounting; and a graduated of Loyola Law School, jurisprudence. He was a member of the Louisiana State and American Bar Association.
