Religious services followed at New Beulah Baptist church in Baptist; interment was in the New Beulah cemetery, with the Thomas Funeral Home in charge. He was a lifelong resident of Natalbany. He is survived by four brothers, Alden, William, and Cleon Addison, all of Natalbany, and Henkel Addison of New Orleans; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Cunningham of Albany, and Mrs. Eva Bankston of Baptist. He died Friday from a heart attack. The funeral was held Monday; interment was in the Lanier cemetery, near Hammond, with the Thomas Funeral Home in charge. She was born February 13, 1866 and spent her entire life in the same community. She was the widow of William H. Bankston, who preceded her in death nearly 57 years ago. She is survived by three sons, Earl Bankston of Loranger, Warren Bankston of Tickfaw, and Henkel Bankston of Hammond; two foster daughters, Mrs. Lee Stafford of Albany, and Mrs. Lionel Bergeron of New Orleans; three brothers, William, W. She died in Houston on November 26. Survivors are three nephews, Raymond and Edward Blackburn of Bellaire, Tex., John Blackburn of Franklin; one niece, Florence Blackburn of Franklin. She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Thomas R. and Philip Blackburn. She was born in New Orleans on February 25, 1873, the daughter of John Michael Blackburn and Bridget Walsh, natives of Ireland. The family settled in Hammond in 1886. She left Hammond and made her home in Franklin in the late 1920's, then returned to Hammond after several years and lived here until 1946 when she moved to Bellaire, in the home of her nephew, Raymond Blackburn. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Vindicator: 8/7/1953 BLUE, MELISSA ANN Funeral services for Mrs. Melissa Ann Blue, 80, who died Sunday in a Baton Rouge hospital from injuries sustained in an auto accident two weeks ago, were held Monday. Interment was in Hutchinson cemetery, near Tickfaw. Serving as pallbearers were six of her grandsons: Melvin Dennison, Raymond Barker, Robert McCahill, Lamar Blue, Bobby Joe Blue, and Orville Blue. Honorary pallbearers were Marion Seabolt, T. B. Brocato, R. E. Barber, Virgil Dennison, James Allen Barker and Douglas Dennison. She was the daughter of the late David Turner Robertson and Melissa Morgan Robertson. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Ouida Dennison of New Orleans, Mrs. Byrel Barker of Hammond, Mrs. Rosia Cannon and Mrs. Lois Jackson of Baton Rouge; one son, David Blue of New Orleans; 20 grandchildren and 22 great, grandchildren. For many years she made her home with her brother, near Folsom, and for the past ten years had lived in Hammond. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Amanda Moore of Mobile, Ala.; four nieces, Mrs. Roxie Bruhl, Mrs. Thelma Blackwell, Mrs. C. C. Vault, and Mrs. May Moore; four nephews, Travis, Floyd, Vergil and Hollis Sandifer. Lewis H. Bohlinger, husband of the former Miss Helen Reid of Hammond, died at his home in Eldorado, Ark., Thursday. At the time of his death, Mrs. Bohlinger was on a trip with her parents, Judge and Mrs. Columbus Reid. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 18, in Little Rock, Ark.; interment was in Dardanelle, Ark. He was the son of Neil Bohlinger, parliamentarian for the State of Arkansas. He was born in Dardanelle, attended Dardanelle and Little Rock Public schools and graduated from the University of Arkansas. He leaves his wife; one son, Hall; one daughter, Hope. Attorney Robert R. Mrs. Valerie E. Bourgeois, 41, of Baton Rouge, a sister of Mrs. Tennis L. Mydland of Hammond, was killed Saturday in an auto wreck in Baton Rouge. Also injured was her 11 year old daughter, Barbara Cecille Bourgeois. Services were held Monday in Baton Rouge; burial was in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She was the former, Wilford Williams (sic) of Ponchatoula. For the past 18 years, she had lived in Baton Rouge. About 2 months ago her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Vito Giannobile celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. He came to this country in 1878, an imigrant from Austria Hungary, now Czechoslovakia, imigrating from a little town of Rovne, his birthplace. He was married to Miss Veronica Suchonick from his native country, to which nine children were born: Mary, the firstborn, having been born in the old country. Afterwards came Joseph, Adam, Jr., John, Anna, Carleen, Louis, Emily and Veronica. Four of his children preceded him in death, as did his wife. For many years he worked for the Illinois Central Railroad; at one time he was associated with his father-in-law, the late J. B. (Barney) Arnold. He married Matilda Arnold 49 years ago on July 3.
