ABBESS, KENNETH EUGENE
Kenneth Eugene Abbess, 60, a resident of Ponchatoula, died Sunday, June 12, 
2011, at his home. Kenneth was born Thursday, April 26, 1951, in Baton 
Rouge. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and Shane Thomas, and 
Shannon and Casey Wallace; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth "Kenny" Jr. and 
Melody Abbess; son, James "Jimmy" Abbess and his fiancee, Kim Barriner; 
sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Kristina Willie and Jeffrey and Amanda 
Abbess. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; a sister, Cerina Hayman; 
and a brother, Cecil Woods. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherlene 
Abbess; parents, James and Rita Randall Abbess; and siblings, Dianne, Jenny 
and Dwayne. Friends will be received on Thursday, June 16, from 5 p.m. to 
8 p.m. at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula. Sharing about 
Kenneth's life will be at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

ABBESS, SHERLENE 
A homemaker and a resident and native of Ponchatoula, she died Thursday,
Sept. 1, 2005, at her home. She was 51, born Friday, March 5, 1954. She is
survived by her husband, Kenneth Eugene Abbess of Ponchatoula; two sons,
Chuck Eastman Willie of Houston and Jeffrey Lance Abbess of Ponchatoula;
daughter, Shannon Jill Wallace of Ponchatoula; three sisters, Jackie
Randall and Terry McDaniel, both of Ponchatoula, and Kay Durbin of Hammond;
brother, Larry Hollie of Ponchatoula; and numerous grandchildren, nieces
and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eli Hollie and Ezzie
Dykes Hollie; sister, Linda Newman; brother, Benny Hollie; and son, Mark
Willie. Visiting at the home of Terry McDaniel, 20271 Hollie Lane,
Ponchatoula, on Wednesday, Sept. 7, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. E-mail
