Visiting at St. Mary Baptist Church on Saturday, July 11, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Conway Knighton, pastor. Burial in Thomas Chapel Cemetery. Survived by his parents, Hugh Clarence Adkins Jr. and Bernice J. Adkins; sisters, Roshunda Chapman and Vernita Adkins; paternal grandmother, Edna Shanklin; paternal great-grandmother, Evelena Ivory; maternal grandfather, Charles V. Johnson; brother, Clarence Bernard Adkins; godbrother, Arthur T. Martin; and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Hugh C. Adkins Sr.; maternal great-grandmothers, Emma Johnson and Arrister Logan Wilson; maternal grandmother, Lee Etter Johnson; and maternal great-grandfather, Jack Johnson. He was a 2004 graduate of Redemptorist High School and a junior at Southeastern Louisiana University, Hammond, where he was majoring in computer graphics design.
