She was 60, born Aug. 3, 1949, in New Orleans, and was a resident of Independence. Survived by her husband, Anthony Albrecht; three daughters, Leslie Tullous, Dawn Jordan and Tammy Windecker; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Myra Stansbury; and brother, Clarence Leonard. Formerly known at Sister Mary deRicci, she was in her 65th year of religious profession. A native of New Orleans, she received a bachelor's degree from Loyola University and a master's degree and doctorate from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. She taught at St. Joseph, Paulina; St. Peter's, Reserve; St. Anthony of Padua, St. Matthias and St. Mary's Dominican High School, New Orleans, as assistant principal, registrar and teacher. She was at St. Mary's Dominican College as professor of English and academic vice president. She was professor of English at St. Joseph's Seminary College in St. Benedict, Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va., and the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. She also taught at Southeastern Louisiana University and had the title of professor emeritus. She served on the administrative council of her congregation. She was engaged in research and writing and serving on the congregational committees. She is survived by two nephews, two great-nephews and one great-niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Cathrine Newhouse Albrecht; and one brother, John Joseph Albrecht. Visitation will be tonight at the Dominican Sisters Motherhouse Chapel, New Orleans, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a wake service at 4:45 and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until Mass at 10:30. Burial will be in the Dominican Sisters Cemetery, Rosaryville, Ponchatoula. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dominican Sisters Retirement Fund, 7300 St. Charles Ave., New Orleans, LA 70118.
