A longtime resident of Baker, she graduated from Louisiana College in Pineville and retired as cafeteria manager at Baker High School. She was a member of Comite Church of Christ where she served as church treasurer for many years. She will be missed by all who knew her including her church family, her Tuesday morning Bible class and her "Wed. Ladies' Lunch Group." She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved family gatherings. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Aline Faye Singleton; and her husband of 47 years, B.E. Aldridge. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Dianne Goulas and Art Goulas, of Central, and Cindy Hamilton, of Baker; six grandchildren, William "Billy" Nettles and wife Melissa, of Summit, Miss., Todd Nettles, of Baker, Amanda Beard and husband Darren, and Lance Nettles and wife Mandy, all of Zachary, Ben Hamilton, of Baker, Heather Anderson and husband John, of Prairieville, Paul Goulas and wife Jenn, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Keryl Goulas, of Baker; 14 great- grandchildren, Ashley, Alyssa, April and William Nettles, Nicholas and Madelyn Beard, Lillian and Parker Nettles, John Michael and Haleigh Anderson, Hanah Hamilton, Jeffrey Goulas, Cameron Esgate and Callie Goulas; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Billy Nettles, Todd Nettles, Lance Nettles, Ben Hamilton, Darren Beard and John Anderson. Honorary pallbearers are Art Goulas and Nicholas Beard. The family wishes to thank Amedysis Hospice Services for their care and assistance, her sitter, Maggie Matthews, for her loving care and companionship, and Faye Ensenat, her faithful friend and hairdresser. He was a retired lietuenant commander with the U.S. Coast Guard and a safety director for Dixie Carriers Inc. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bastrop and the Metairie Ridge Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Metairie. Survivors include his wife, Wanda McIntyre Aldridge; two daughters, Pamela Eickel, Grand Prairie, Texas, and Kimberly Brown, Baton Rouge; three sons, William Morris Aldridge, Crystal Springs, Miss., John McIntyre Aldridge, Independence and David Allen Aldridge, Kenner; four sisters, Helen Barber, Bellevue, Wash., and Betty Knapp, Peggy Wheeler and Marjorie Bergeron, all of Shawnee, Okla.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at Golden Funeral Home today from 6 to 8 p.m. The Rev. She was a native of Tuscaloosa, Ala. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth R. Aldridge of Robert; six daughters, Victoria "Vicki" Terral and Pam Whorton, both of Robert, Sherry Bryant of Chalmette, Linda Allen of Pearl River, Debra Fry of Hammond and JoAnn Richardson of Walker; five sons, Jerry Ratcliff of Midlothian, Texas, Myron Young of Tampa, Fla., Richard Young of Loranger, Rickey Aldridge of RuiDoso, N.M., and Kenneth Aldridge of Mentor, Ohio; 30 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Todd; and one brother, J.T. Scott. P. A resident of Ponchatoula, he died Saturday, June 11, 2005, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. He was 87, born July 12, 1917, in Steubenville, Ohio. Visiting at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, and from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 15. Interment in Rosaryville Cemetery, Ponchatoula. He is survived by a sister, Sr. Mary Thomas Aldridge, Franciscan, Manitowoc, Wis. Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Bernard and Mary Rose Biggio Aldridge; and a brother, Thomas Bernard Aldridge Jr. He made his simple profession at St. Rose Priory in Springfield, Ky., on Aug. 16, 1940, and completed his ordination into the priesthood at St. Thomas Aquinas Priory in River Forest, Ill., on June 18, 1946. He was an instructor of philosophy and theology at DePaul University, Chicago, from 1947 to 1949. He received a bachelor of arts from Providence College, Providence, R.I., in 1939, master of arts, S.T.Lr. from the Dominican House of Studies, River Forest, in 1947, and had a sabbatical year from 1977 to 1978. He was a member of St. Martin de Porres Province.
