He was 63, a resident of Hammond and a native of Melville. Visitation was at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday. Visitation at the funeral home from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday. Graveside service in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Hammond, at 2 p.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Barry Stanley. Survived by his wife, Sharon Childress Alphonse, Hammond; two sons, Jason Alphonse, Picayune, Miss., and Anthony Alphonse, Hammond; two sisters, Cathy Faucheux, Hammond, and Shirley Alphonse, Metairie; a brother, Walter Alphonse, Sandy, Utah; and two grandchildren, David Alphonse, Gainesville, Fla.; and Ashton Alphonse, Picayune.
